The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Farm Service Agency (FSA) urges all farmers, ranchers, and FSA program participants to participate in the Jackson County Committee election nomination process this month.
A person must participate or cooperate in a program administered by FSA, be eligible to vote in a county committee election, and reside in the local administrative area (LAA) in which the person is a candidate, to be eligible to serve on an FSA county committee. Counties are divided into LAA for election purposes. Each LAA elects one producer to serve on the FSA county committee for a three-year term.
Eligible individuals must sign an FSA-669A nomination form to become a candidate. The form and other information about FSA county committee elections can be found at fsa.usda.gov/elections.The nomination process began on June 15. Nomination forms for the 2022 election must be postmarked or received at the local USDA Service Center by August 1. For further information about FSA county committee elections and appointments, refer to the FSA fact sheet: Eligibility to Vote and Hold Office as a COC Member located at fsa.usda.gov/elections online.
