Facility Named in Honor of Everett

HOLLYWOOD, Ala- CFD Research Corporation, a provider of innovative solutions for the Aerospace & Defense, Biomedical & Life Sciences, and Energy & Materials industries, recently held a ribbon-cutting and dedication ceremony for their new and expanded Engineering Test Center at the Jackson County Industrial Park in Hollywood, AL. The new 13,125 square foot building is located on 10.4 acres in the Jackson County Industrial park in Hollywood, AL. The building also contains 3,750 square feet of office and meeting space and 7,500 square feet of high bay space for prototyping and testing.

The facility is dedicated to former CFD Research Engineering Technician, Joel Everett.  Family and friends of Joel Everett attended the ceremony and were presented with a dedication plaque by CFD Research CEO, Sameer Singhal and Director of Test and Evaluation, Adam Elliott.  “Joel’s dedication and commitment to innovation have played a major role in bringing us all here today.  This new facility is a realization of his vision and determination to make CFD Research’s Test Facility a success.  Even though Joel is no longer with us, his accomplishments and vision live on.” said Adam Elliott.

The Joel B. Everett Engineering Test Center is the new home for CFD Research’s prototype manufacturing, system integration, and test & evaluation services supporting many of the cutting-edge technologies that CFD Research develops including propulsion systems, aerospace ground test facilities, and power generation and energy storage technologies.

Important work performed at the facility has included the development of a ram air turbine generator for the Navy’s Next Generation Jammer, advanced propulsion technologies, and fuel injectors for the Air Force’s aero propulsion test unit (APTU).  Current efforts are focused on developing new ground test capabilities for the research and development of high-speed vehicles.

“CFD Research has been leasing and operating an engineering test facility in Jackson County at Goose Pond Industrial Park for over a decade,” said Sameer Singhal, CFD Research president, and CEO. “Building and owning this new facility gives us the space and flexibility to grow into larger and more complex prototyping and evaluation operations while establishing a permanent footprint in Jackson County.  Furthermore, this facility will allow us to retain and grow staffing in Jackson County with our very talented employee-owners.”

In attendance at the groundbreaking ceremony on Thursday, August 5th were State Senator Steve Livingston, Scottsboro Mayor Jim Mccamy, Jackson County Commission Chairman Bill Nance, Scottsboro Industrial Development Board member Roy Light, members of the Jackson County Economic Development Authority, and other local leaders.
