Missing Hiker Located

JACKSON COUNTY, Ala. — The Scottsboro-Jackson County Rescue Squad has located the hiker missing from the Walls of Jericho trail.

Crews located Aaron Timothy Lewis Jr. at 1 a.m. on Thursday unharmed. Lewis stated he went out on the trail and got lost.

The initial missing person’s report stated that Lewis was traveling with a woman, but he told authorities he was alone.

Earlier in the day, a car had been located in connection with the missing person with the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office being assisted with Hytop volunteer firefighters and a helicopter from the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency.
