JACKSON COUNTY, Ala. — Offices at Scottsboro City Schools will begin reopening on Monday, May 18.

According to Scottsboro City Schools Superintendent Dr. Jay Reyes, school offices will be open to the public Monday through Thursday from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Front office staff will available for assistance. The central office will have similar hours but will remain open until 4 p.m. instead of closing at 3:30 p.m. All school offices are closed on Fridays.

“Campuses will continue to remain closed to student activities,” Reyes said in a statement. “The first potential date for student activities on campus is June 8. We will await further direction from the [Alabama State Department of Education] (ALSDE) on the matter and will share with the public once we receive that information.”

Reyes said the approved calendar for the 2020-21 school year is still in effect.

“Our state date [for the fall semester] is set but that of course could change,” Reyes stated. “We will be flexible if it becomes necessary.”
