SCOTTSBORO, Ala. — The City of Scottsboro will present the 2020 Scottsboro Christmas Parade, with the theme of “It’s A Grinch Christmas!” on Monday, December 7 at 6 p.m.

The cost to participate in the parade is $10 per entry with 100% of proceeds going towards the Christmas Angel Tree program. The lineup begins at Collins Elementary School at 4:30 p.m. This is a joint effort between the Department of Human Resources (DHR), the Community Service League, and the Mountain Lakes Chamber of Commerce to purchase Christmas gifts for the 112 foster children in Jackson County. Donations for the program are also accepted.

Awards like The Mayor’s Award, Innovation Award, and the Media Award, sponsored by the Jackson County Sentinel and Southern Torch/98.3/101.7 will be awarded. The Chairman’s Award, sponsored by the Chamber, will be awarded.

Sonya Clemons, also known as “The Art Lady,” will lead the parade as Citizen of the Year, along with Lifetime Achievement winner Jake Word, and Grand Marshal Mark K. and Gene Carlton.
