JACKSON COUNTY, Ala. — Founders of The SAM Foundation will be joining 98.3 Morning Show this month with information, education, and ways that you can help.
September is National Suicide Prevention Month when mental health professionals, advocates, prevention organizations, suicide survivors, and allied community members come together to draw attention to the problem of this public health tragedy.
Suicide is the 2nd leading cause of death for individuals ages 10-24. This is a heart-breaking statistic. The SAM Foundation offers a variety of educational training programs that will provide tools in case you are ever faced with a mental health crisis for yourself or a loved one.
Be sure to visit their website http://samfound.org and Facebook and all of their social media platforms. If you need to talk to someone, you can call (256) 516-2052.
The mission is to prevent suicide through public awareness and education with hope to change the way our communities view mental health and serve as a resource to those who have been affected by suicide.
The SAM Foundation will post daily reminders, tips, and information on suicide prevention. If you or someone you know needs to talk, please reach out.
