SCOTTSBORO, Ala. — Goose Pond Colony Resort will host their 38th Annual Fourth of July celebration on Saturday, July 4 in Scottsboro. Fireworks will begin at 9 p.m.

Admission to the event is free, and food and drinks will be available for purchase from a variety of vendors at the event. No outside alcoholic beverages will be allowed to be transported from outside of Goose Pond Colony, but beer will be available for purchase at the Amphitheater and at The Bait & Tackle Shop. Guests are encouraged to bring chairs and blankets to the celebration.

In a release, Goose Pond Colony Resort stated:

“It is our priority that everyone that attends this event does so in a safe manner. There will be several changes to the show this year to address social distancing protocols due to the Covid-19 virus.

Most importantly, if anyone feels sick or has had a temperature in the weeks prior to the 4th of July, we ask you to not attend this event. All spectators are asked to bring a mask and to use it if they can not keep at least 6’ of space between you and a non-family member.

As always, one of the prime locations to watch the show is from a boat on the lake. In a boat, Social Distancing can easily be achieved, and it is recommended to only have one family unit in each boat. It is also recommended that each boat, due to the challenges of social distancing, maintain a minimum of 6’ between boats.

Goose Pond will NOT be hosting a concert at the amphitheater and will limit the number of spectators in this area. As soon as the show is overall spectators are asked to return to their overnight accommodations.
