MADISON, Ala. — The North Jackson Chiefs were defeated by Madison Academy Mustangs, 36-32 in Class 4A Region 7 play on Friday night. 

Madison Academy scored first with s 32-yard field goal.  After being forced to punt, the Chiefs recovered a fumble.  Johnny Gilliam capitalized on the mishap, scoring a touchdown. The Chiefs went for two but failed on the attempt.  The Mustangs ran the kickoff back for 78 yards for the touchdown.  North Jackson took the 12-10 lead with a 29-yard touchdown reception by Kyle Posey.

North Jackson held the Mustangs scoreless in the second quarter.  The Chiefs scored on a Nigel Lanier two-yard touchdown and a with :05 remaining in the first half, and a  touchdown by Gilliam to take the 32-10 lead. 

In the third quarter, the Mustangs scored three times, to narrow the Chiefs lead to 32-24.  Madison Academy scored the game-winning touchdown late in the fourth quarter. 

Johnny Gilliam led North Jackson with 114 yards and touchdowns.  

North Jackson will host Scottsboro on Friday night.
