SCOTTSBORO, Ala. — The Young Republicans of Northeast Alabama (YRNEA) have announced their endorsement of former Auburn head football coach Tommy Tuberville for U.S. Senate.

The club’s membership voted overwhelmingly to endorse Tuberville. “It is clear that young people want a U.S. Senator who will fight for the issues we care about,” said YRNEA Chairman Dylan Smith. “Mental health, the opioid crisis, and education are all key issues facing our generation. Coach Tuberville is the leader we need to spearhead these issues.”

YRNEA noted that Tuberville is not a career politician, further strengthening his ability to be an effective senator.

Smith continued, “Career politicians don’t have the courage to stand for President Trump’s America First agenda. Coach Tuberville does.”

YRNEA said Tuberville’s message of being a conservative outsider is resonating throughout North Alabama. Smith concludes, “Coach Tuberville will be a fierce opponent against the evils of socialism. Alabama needs a conservative fighter, we’ve got one in Coach Tuberville.”

Tuberville released a statement regarding the endorsement. “I am honored to have the endorsement of Northeast AL Young Republicans,” said Coach Tuberville. “They are the future of our country and I am proud that they are confident in my ability to represent them on the issues that not only matter to them but will make this a better country for us all.”

The Young Republicans of Northeast Alabama states that its organizational mission is to mold the next generation of state and community leaders. The club’s membership consists of young conservatives from Jackson and DeKalb Counties.

YRNEA says the club will actively campaign for Tuberville and dedicate its resources to grassroots operations.
