SCOTTSBORO, Ala. — Beginning October 1, Scottsboro Police officers will begin issuing citations for unauthorized commercial trucks (GVW 10,000) on several streets.
According to Ordinance 614, passed by the City Council of the City of Scottsboro, “It shall be unlawful and constitute an offense against the City of Scottsboro for any person to operate or remain in a commercial vehicle with a manufactured gross vehicle of 10,000 pounds or more on the following streets: Moody Ridge Road, Charlotte Street, King Street, Chapell Street, Hays Street, Peachtree Street, Appletree Street, Pine Street, Cherry Street, Garden Drive.”
Exceptions include emergency vehicles, delivery trucks, school buses, garbage trucks and maintenance equipment.
The first conviction, an offender may be fined up to $250.00. On the second conviction, an offender may be fined up to $500.
