SCOTTSBORO, Ala. — Republican candidate for U.S. Senate Tommy Tuberville is expected to make a campaign stop in Scottsboro this Wednesday.

The former Auburn Head Football Coach will meet with community leaders to discuss economic development efforts currently underway in Jackson County.

Tuberville will also visit Highlands Medical Center to discuss issues related to rural health care. The two-time SEC Coach of the Year has traveled to Jackson County on multiple occasions throughout the race.

According to campaign finance records, the Tuberville campaign has raised over $40k in Jackson County. Tuberville faces former U.S. Senator and Attorney General Jeff Sessions in the primary runoff election on July 14th.

During the March 3rd GOP Primary, Tuberville claimed the most votes in Jackson County, garnering 44.5% (4,452) of all votes cast compared to Sessions’ 28.9% (2,890).

The runoff election was originally scheduled to take place on March 31 before Governor Kay Ivey postponed the election due to COVID-19 related concerns.
