Jackson County Crash Kills 1, Injures 2

On Wednesday, a two-vehicle crash near Skyline left one dead and sent two injured to the hospital.

According to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA), Michael D. Cooper, 65, of Bridgeport, was fatally injured when his 2007 Ford Ranger crashed into a 2004 Toyota 4Runner. Cooper was driving his vehicle.

ALEA says the wreck occurred in the morning on Jackson County Road 33 near Jackson County Road 191 north of Skyline.

Cooper’s vehicle left the roadway and overturned after the impact. Cooper was pronounced dead on the scene.

The 4Runner’s driver, as well as a passenger riding with Cooper in the Ford were transported to Huntsville Hospital after the collision.

ALEA continues to investigate the collision.
