On Wednesday, July 6, Cheryl Miller was honored with a retirement ceremony at the Scottsboro Police Department.

Miller, who serves as the office manager, has served the city for 28 years.

In 1994, Miller began her career with the police department as a part-time dispatcher. Later that year, she was hired as a full-time dispatcher.

Miller was promoted to dispatch supervisor in December 1997 and was influential in the implementation of a new CAD (Caller Aided Dispatch) system that was installed in the early 2000’s.

She took over duties of office manager for the police department in April 2019.

Police Chief Ron Latimer said, “Cheryl has been a valuable employee of the Scottsboro Police Department.” He continued, “More importantly, she has been a good friend. We wish her well in her future endeavors, and all the best in retirement.”
