JACKSON COUNTY, ALA.– Only two months into his fourth term as Jackson County Sheriff,  Chuck Phillips has announced his plans to retire on April 1 due to personal reasons.

Phillips was first elected Jackson County Sheriff in 2010.  His retirement date with be exactly 41 years after he first joined law enforcement with the Scottsboro Police Department.

Gov. Kay Ivey is expected to announce Phillips’ replacement next month.
