Recent Tornado Confirmed in Jackson County

JACKSON COUNTY, Ala.– The National Weather Service has determined that a tornado touched down in Jackson County on January 12. 

A  EFO tornado is the weakest tornado on the Enhanced Fujita Scale.  An EFO tornado has wind speeds ranging between 65-85 mph.  

The EF-0 tornado,  in Jackson County,  had winds of 76 mph. The tornado touched down between Pisgah and Rosalie, near County Roads 151 and 58. 

The tornado caused damage to roofs and trees.  Images provided to the National Weather Service by Jackson County Emergency Management Agency (EMA) helped in the determination.
